Leaving things alone
I had a problem with my ears, cerum (wax) was accumulating in my external ear canal, and I didn't know why.
It blocked completely and I couldn't hear, went to ENT doctor and got it extracted from both ears, she told me that it is because of cleaning, and it may happens again.
It did.
For the second time the same exact plug which develops to like hard black surface.
Then I came to realization that it is because of my self cleaning, that interferes with normal regular ciliary motion. That minor ache which corresponds to normal carpet of wax moving outwards.
And I foolishly wipe it away excessively with my fingers until it accumulated in the deep where I can't reach it.
This has taught me an important lesson about understanding the design.
